Dave, Boarding Manager

Dave started his career at Newport Animal Hospital in October of 2008. After graduating from the University of Rhode Island with degrees in biology and animal science, Dave ended up here at NAH working as a veterinary technician. While he excelled in the position, Dave found he enjoyed working with the pets in our boarding facility most of all. He earned a promotion to Boarding Manager in the summer of 2012 and does an amazing job keeping our boarders happy and healthy! When he is not devoting his attention to our boarding pets, Dave is spoiling his two cats, Tookie and Matsi, and his dog Echo.

Kelly,Senior Boarding Assistant

Kelly became a boarding assistant at NAH in November of 2012. After graduating from Portsmouth High School in 2011, she began searching for a job that would give her experience in the animal care field. Kelly is interested in becoming a certified veterinary technician, which made Newport Animal Hospital a great fit! She loves working with animals everyday and is looking to pursue a degree in animal sciences. Kelly also loves horses and is an experienced rider. She grew up in Portsmouth RI with many pets over the years, (including two Labrador Retrievers named Genny and Dakota) and is currently the proud mom of four cats “Manson”, “Lily”, “Smokey” and “Nina”.

Brianna

Brianna became an NAH boarding assistant in August 2013. She isgraduating from URI in just a couple months with a degree inAnimal/Pre-Veterinary Science. She grew up in Cranston, R.I. and hasalways had at least 4 dogs (usually labs) in her house at all times! She loves spending time at the beach and going on trips outdoors withfriends. Brianna currently has 3 dogs at home named Riley, Harmony, andCharlie…which are all labs. She also loves spending time playing withyour pets and hopes to become a certified veterinary technician!

Ciara

Ciara started at NAH in the spring of 2014. She was lead here by a lifelong passion for animals and animal care. One of Middletown’s own she graduated in 2012 and currently intends on pursuing a major in some type of applied science. She loves the fast paced environment that keeping up with our boarders provides, and knows just how to handle their specific needs and personalities. Her hobbies include riding her 7 year old Thoroughbred Cross Sophie and enjoying various outdoor activities with her three dogs Clodaugh, Layna and Gator, while her rescued barn cat Gracie observes the chaos.

Stephanie

Stephanie joined our kennel team in the summer of 2015. She is currently attending the University of Rhode Island for Pre-Vet/Animal Science and hopes to one day open her own veterinary practice. Stephanie moved to RI from Florida in August 2014, (and yes, she loves the snow!), with her hound mix, Bear, and an all white cat named Bella. When not working, Stephanie loves to relax with friends or take Bear hiking and to the beach.

Kayla

Kayla began working as a boarding assistant at Newport Animal Hospital in June of 2014. She recently graduated from Portsmouth High School and will be attending URI to pursue a degree in Animal Sciences! As an experienced rider, Kayla competes regularly throughout New England with her horse Bentley. She has been riding horses since she was 5 years old and it continues to be a major part of her life– it is the reason for her love of animals! In addition to her horse Bentley, Kayla also has two adorable cats at home named Baby Honey and Salem.

Kat

Kat began working at NAH as a boarding assistant in May of 2015. After graduating from Roger Williams University with a Criminal Justice degree, she decided to pursue a career working with animals. One day she would love to work on the law enforcement side of preventing animal cruelty. Aside from her job, her love for animals can also be seen inside her Newport home, for she is a proud mom of her adopted

Jessi

Jessi became a boarding assistant at Newport Animal Hospital in January of 2015. After graduating with a B.S. in Hospitality from Johnson & Wales University in 2014, she decided to follow her true passion of working with animals. Jessi aspires to become a veterinary technician, and would like to become involved with dog training and adoption coordinating. Jessi has been around animals her whole life, and currently has two beagle puppies named Oliver and Winnie.
