Dr. Jack Civic has been working in the Veterinary field for 25 years. A native of Rhode Island, Dr. Civic earned a B.S. in Animal Science at the University of Rhode Island in 1977. He then attended Oklahoma State University where he studied Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation in 1983, Dr. Civic relocated to R.I.  Dr. Civic served as the President of the Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association for 2 years and was also a member of the Rhode Island State Board of Licensing and Examiners. He currently resides in Jamestown, with his wife Sarah and their family dogs "Buck" and "Kay Lee".

Dr. Randy Wirth
Originally from upstate New York, Dr. Randy Wirth attended the University of Michigan where he received his B.S. in Biology. Upon graduation, he began studying Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. He received his doctorate  in 1989 and began to practice medicine in the state of Conneticut. He relocated to Rhode Island and became a member of the NAH team in 1991. His occupational interests include Canine Reproduction and Internal Medicine. Dr. Wirth currently resides on Aquidneck Island with his wife, two  children,  their cats, and their Golden Retriever "Chelsea".

Originally from the Boston Area, Dr. Lisa Walker attended the University of Colorado at Boulder,  where she received a bachelor's degree in Environmental Conservation. Following graduation, she began studying Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University. She received her doctorate in 2000, and relocated to Rhode Island. Her occupational interests include Soft Tissue Surgery and Internal Medicine. She currently resides in Newport with her husband, two children, and their sweet 'mutt' "Daisy".

A native of Northern MA, Dr. Joshua Hatch attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he received a bachelor's degree in Animal Science. Following graduation, he began studying Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. In 2004, he moved to Aquidneck Island with his cat "Charlie" and his two leopard geckos.  Dr. Hatch is interested in all aspects of small animal practice including small mammals like ferrets and rabbits as well as more exotic species. He also writes a weekly Pet Tip for the Jamestown Press. In his spare time he enjoys fishing off the coast and exploring the many fine restaurants in the area.

Dr. Mirka Ondris
The Newport Animal Hospital would like to welcome the newest member of our team. Dr. Mirka Ondris, a native of the Netherlands, was raised in Ohio and studied Biology at the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign. She returned to her native country to pursue Veterinary Medicine at the Utrecht University. Following graduation in 2005,  Dr. Ondris relocated to the Newport Area with her shelter dog "Tommie" and her cat "Sasha".  Her occupational interests include feline medicine, ultrasonography, and orthopedic medicine.
